I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.  I am a child and adolescent psychiatrist whose research focuses on understanding brain physiology and its relationship to mood disorders and suicidal thoughts and behaviors in adolescents.  My work has utilized various methods to study depression and suicidal thoughts and behaviors in teens, such as noninvasive neuromodulation (brain stimulation), which includes transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and several types of neuroimaging.  I received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas, and completed residency and fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

I am a senior studying Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota, with a desire to pursue medicine.  As an advocate for mental health in conjunction with empathetic patient care, I am interested in exploring the overlap between neurobiological processes and depression in adolescents.  I am excited to explore and help develop preventative strategies and improved treatment plans in order to improve mental health outcomes.
